Baseball Culture
We all want a place our player can develop and have fun, but it just as important for your player to be around great kids, amazing families and a positive, earn it baseball culture that teaches life skills. We work hard as an organization and baseball family to achieve excellence both on and off the field.
- We believe in teams and the power of building chemistry within a team, therefore our end goal is always to get each group of players to point where they have consistent teammates and coaching staff.
- We are a baseball family and our mutual commitments is what develops the culture that enables teams to grow and families to have a great experienced with the San Diego Hawks. Feedback is not only welcome and an integral part of our growth as a program, it is against our baseball culture to NOT provide constructive feedback.
- We believe in promoting players from within the program but established travel ball players looking for a program that is a better fit for their family, will be placed on the appropriate team during the extended tryout process. We are an "earn it" baseball culture.
Guide for Family & Fans
Our positive baseball culture where we let the kids play (while earning it on and off the field) is the foundation of our club and with that comes certain expectations of players, parents and family members.
Expectations for Fans, Family and Parents
An inability to meet these expectations will result in less opportunities for your player and could ultimately result in their removal from the program. We believe strongly that this culture and approach helps teach life through baseball, and appreciate your understanding.
Expectations for Fans, Family and Parents
- We are there to positively encourage and cheer for our players and team.
- Any type of negative interactions with anyone at the game (or practices), on or off the field, is strongly discouraged.
- We will bring any concerns to the attention of the coaches and/or the organization, and not participate in negative "chatter" with other parents.
- We are there to watch our player compete and to cheer on the team.
- We are not there to interact with our Hawks player on the field or in the dugout.
- We understand that umpiring is not easy and we will have positive or no interactions with the blues (umpires).
- We will never yell out displeasure with a ball or strike, or out or safe call.
- We fully support our coaches during their time with our player while at team events.
- We will not coach our player during team events and any concerns, feedback or questions you have should typically wait until the next day.
- We will encourage our player to look to their coach for guidance during team events.
An inability to meet these expectations will result in less opportunities for your player and could ultimately result in their removal from the program. We believe strongly that this culture and approach helps teach life through baseball, and appreciate your understanding.
Communication
Great communication is essential to running a large organization efficiently. Each family doing their part enables the coaches and organization to focus on developing your player (instead of operational tasks).
